Founded in the spring of 2024 by Mike Waggoner, Southern Cross Specialty Contractors has been a dream and vision more than 40 years in the making. Starting in the trades back in 1982, he has continued to learn, grow and execute as a professional in every season of his career.

He began with an electrical apprenticeship and spent his first decade in Florida as a residential electrician before transitioning into the commercial electrical construction arena in the early 90s. Later, Waggoner became a multi-state licensed unlimited electrical contractor in 1996 and a licensed unlimited general contractor in 2008.

Since then, he has become a NCCER certified electrical craft instructor who has been actively involved in teaching in the electrical apprenticeship program, contractor licensing and continuing education system — raising up the next generation of professional tradesmen and women.
